All orders accepted are subject to these terms & conditions of sale.

All designs are copyright & property of Cardlab Ltd. As such you or a third party must obtain our written consent should you wish to copy or reproduce any party of any of the designs in any way.

Proofs & Approving Proofs

All text & copy must be supplied to us either as an email (please send to kate@cardlab.co.uk) or using an online order form, links to which can be found on each invitation page. Once received we will create full colour PDF proofs for you.

Once you've received the first proofs it is no problem to make changes, you just email over the amends you would like and we'll update the design accordingly. We will then resend the amended version to you for approval or further comments. We will continue this back & forth until you are 100% happy with the design, wording & layout. 

It is your responsibility to check all of the text & copy in the PDF proofs, which will be emailed to you. We regret we are not able to offer a proof reading/checking service. We will not proceed to printing until we have approval from you. When you grant approval you are accepting responsibility for any and all errors, including but not limited to;

  • Spelling errors, typos or grammatical errors
  • The Finishing Touches e.g Card Colour, Ribbon Colour, Ink Colour etc (Proofs are full colour but for the avoidance of doubt these will also be listed on your proof)

If errors are discovered subsequent to approval we will charge for reprinting.

Copies of your approved proofs will be sent to you along with your receipt once payment has been received. 


Payment is required in full when you approve the proofs. Your order will not progress to print & production until full payment has been received. 

Payment is accepted by Credit / Debit Card, PayPal or Bank Transfer.

Ordering Additional Invitations

Once you've received your invitations if you find you require a few extras we can print these for you, however as the time to set the printing press is the same if we print 1 or 100 invitations printing press set up charges will apply. The charge will depend on how much set up is required for your order but as a guide please see below;

Invitations (depending on style) = from £40
Information Sheets = from £20
Acceptance Cards = from £30

For this purpose we suggest you order a few extras when you place your original order.

Returns & Cancellations

Once final approval of the proofs has been given we will start work on your order and as such all monies paid are non-refundable.

We regret that refunds and exchanges can only be made where the goods are faulty or if they fail to meet the specification agreed on your final proofs & payment receipt. Following payment you will be sent a receipt & copies of your approved proofs for your records.

Returns - Faulty Goods

Each order undergoes quality checks prior to dispatch, and we hope you will be delighted with your stationery. However if this is not the case and an item is found to be faulty we will either refund the cost of the item or replace with like for like. This is provided the items have not been used and are returned to us in their original condition & packaging. Please notify us within 7 days of delivery to apply for a refund.  

As our stationery is made bespoke refunds & replacements cannot be given unless an item it is proven to be faulty.

Due to the handcrafted nature there may be slight differences to each piece and to previous samples. This is not deemed as faulty. 

If your order matches the approved proofs and specification (as detailed on your receipt & final proofs), but on delivery you discover a typo, spelling error etc this is not deemed as faulty. Please see note above regarding proofing and approval.

Claims will be settled once the faulty goods have been received by us. The cost & safe return of goods is the responsibility of you (the customer). It's suggested you obtain proof of postage as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in transit to us. You will be notified when the returned goods arrive with us. Goods must be returned as new and unused.

Should the product specifications from our suppliers change we will contact you and aim to offer a replacement of the same or better quality at the same price. If the stationery is ordered in stages we cannot guarantee continuity of materials, but should this be an issue we will work with you to provide the best solution.

The risk of the goods passes to the buyer upon delivery or attempted delivery should the customer fail to take delivery of the goods.

We respect your privacy and will never pass your details on to a third party. Your personal details are held securely and in strict confidence.

We take every effort to keep our website up to date. However we cannot accept liability for the accuracy or content. Any visitors who rely on this information do so at their own risk. 

We reserve the right to change policy, prices and products without prior notice. Incorrectly priced items may not be dispatched or additional payment may be required.

We cannot accept responsibility for any effects of ageing caused or variations in any of our products or materials used.
